CARBON STORAGE TASMANIA

Carbon Storage Tasmania was registered in 2008. We provide carbon credits that store carbon and protect Tasmania's ancient forests at the same time. We act as an agent for the storage of carbon in 'private carbon reserves'. Because CO2 stays in the earths atmosphere for a century, the storage of carbon in trees MUST be viewed as an intergenerational project. Land can be sold or logged and the carbon storing benefit is voided. Storing carbon in mono-culture tree plantations is just stupid! They have no bio-diversity and rely on toxic chemicals to survive initially. Young trees do take-up more carbon than old trees, but what about all the carbon stored in trees that have not been claimed as a carbon credit?  Our carbon storage plan has recieved the enthusiastic endorsment of hydrologists, meteorolgists, tourist operators and conservationists.

Tasmanian forests store more carbon than anywhere else on earth. The worlds tallest trees are not the Californian sequoia but the mountain ash or eucalypus regnans of Victoria and Tasmania. Carbon Storage Tasmania is a free-market solution with untold benefits for everybody, including your children's children. Trees are the best way to store carbon. They are 85% carbon and they produce oxygen and rain, unlike carbon buried in the ground. Already we see unethical people trying to sell carbon credits from tree plantations grown to be logged. Our carbon storage only occurs in mixed-species native forest. To offset carbon a tree must remain growing for 100 years. Thats how long carbon from our emissions stay in the atmosphere. Our method of storing carbon relies on accountabily, ethics and effective data storage. There is also a lot of mathematics involved and it must all be verifiable.

Carbon Storage Tasmania will never use tree plantations for the storage of carbon. We issue carbon offset permits based on the atmospheric life of carbon. This is not just any carbon storage model because it offers enhanced benefits for the whole planet. Imagine the security that comes from ethically offsetting your carbon emissions at the same time as you preserve the habitat of Australian birds and mammals? Carbon Storage Tasmania is registered in Tasmania and is a subsidiary of Unique Computers Beaconsfield Tasmania. For more information email or phone Karl Stevens (Aust.61) 03-63831618
