The latest cancer data from the ABS clearly shows Tasmania leading the rest of Australia in cancer mortality. The picture at left is clear-felled native forest inside Launceston's water catchment. Here native forest is converted to tree plantations, which are then aerial sprayed with triazine herbicides. Triazines are banned in the EU. During heavy rain this carcinogen is washed into Launcestons water supply. Native forest conversion is supported by the Australian and Tasmanian governments. Triazines are 'endocrine disruptors', known to cause prostate cancer in men and breast cancer in women. 'Toxic Tasmania' is the cancer capital of Australia. The company that makes these herbicides, Syngenta understands exactly what their products are doing because the parent companies Novartis and AstraZeneca are leading suppliers of cancer medications. They simply reverse the effects of their herbicides. Reports are surfacing in Tasmania of Atrazine-contaminated drinking water neutralising the effects of cancer medication. Saddly, Tasmania also has Australias lowest number of doctors per head of population.  The picture was taken in the upper reaches of the North Esk river. What you see is illegal in all developed countries of the world, except the bizarre 'woodchipocracy' of Tasmania.  Forestry is exempt from freedom of information law in Tasmania.
